DESTEK stands for “Design and Technology”, as it is written in the instruction manual of the DESTEK V4 VR glasses. These glasses are not in the lowest price segment, but in our opinion they are worth every euro. These VR glasses have ranked high in ours VR glasses charts deserved. How do the DESTEK V4 VR glasses work?
As with all other VR glasses that are used with the smartphone, the smartphone is inserted into the front of the glasses (you can find suitable smartphones here → The best VR smartphones (cardboard) ). Then you still need a VR app, such as B. Google Cardboard, adjust the glasses a little so that everything is sharp, and then you can immerse yourself in virtual reality.
How well does the DESTEK V4 work with Daydream?
It “almost” works very well. There is the shortcoming that the Daydream app does not recognize the DESTEK V4 VR glasses as Daydream glasses. So you have to state that you are using a Daydream View. This is actually not a problem, but the distances between eyes, lenses and smartphone display are not the same, so everything seems a bit “more distant”. However, it’s manageable and a whole lot cheaper than the Google Daydream View.
The remote control works amazingly well, you could navigate comfortably through the Daydream app and move around very well in games or use the remote control as a lightsaber.
Our conclusion: we can do it Daydream variant Hardly recommend, the benefits far outweigh the cardboard apps.
DESTEK – design and technology
At DESTEK, you get the feeling that the manufacturer worked extensively while designing its VR glasses. There are detailed operating instructions in German and English, as well as two QR codes for glasses over or under 5.5 inches display size.

Magnetic switch + remote control (Daydream)
In the basic version (without remote control), the apps can still be operated with a magnetic switch on the top of the glasses. This worked very well and reliably in our test.
The Bluetooth remote control was also convincing and extremely practical because you can also regulate the volume.
As mentioned above, there is also a version with a Daydream remote control, so Daydream applications can also be operated.
