Apple iPhone 11 – great performance, design is “well”
The iPhone 11 doesn’t even look that good overall. After all, it comes in 6 colors, has an aluminum frame (instead of stainless steel as in the Pro models) and it has a smooth, glossy back (instead of matt as in the Pro models).
The rather unsightly thing about the iPhone 11 is the relatively large frame and the ugly, large notch on the top of the display. At 150.9 x 75.7 x 8.3 mm, it is approx. 3 mm wider than the iPhone 11 Pro. Overall, it looks like a smartphone from 2017.
As with the top models, the A13 Bionic processor is also used. This delivers enough power and ensures a smooth experience. The iPhone is available with 64 GB or 128 GB, which this time is hardly more expensive.

Display: As usual from Apple – low pixel density, also only LCD
A display like that of the iPhone 11 is only found in the low-budget models from Huawei P30 Lite or Samsung Galaxy A10 . The price is right there too. As with these budget smartphones, the resolution is very low with only 828 x 1792 pixels, which means a display density of only 326 ppi. (You can find more information here: VR glasses resolution )
It is also difficult to read the rather dark display in sunlight, and the contrast is far below that of OLED screens. Unfortunately, the display is not suitable for VR.
You also have to say that savings have to be made somewhere. Apple did this with the iPhone 11, especially with the display and cameras.

The 2 cameras on the back are a bright spot on this smartphone. The 12 MP camera and the ultra-wide-angle mode ensure comparatively great shots. Thanks to image stabilization, there are no major wobbles in videos. In addition, with the help of 4 microphones, the sound recording is focused on the image that is currently being recorded. Disturbing background noises coming from behind are therefore suppressed, which leaves a very good impression on the videos. Videos with 4k are possible with up to 60 frames per second.
Is the Apple iPhone 11 suitable for VR?
Size and performance would fit, but as is well known, Apple relies less or not at all on VR, and therefore not on high-resolution displays. The iPhone 11 also has an even weaker display (LCD with only 326 ppi), which is unfortunately not enough for a good VR experience.
