The LG G6 impresses with its extremely strong battery and its good display. The only shortcoming for some people could be the 18: 9 format. Thanks to the dual camera, and thus the larger viewing angle, the 'Google Cardboard Camera App' can take beautiful VR shots.

LG G6 – LG’s G series continues

The LG G6 impresses with its large, sharp display and triumphs with its dual camera. Thanks to the dual camera with 13 MP each, the LG G6 allows a wider viewing angle when shooting, which benefits the ‘Google Cardboard Camera App’. Large display on the LG G6, but still handy

With its 5.7-inch display, the LG G6 plays in the league of large displays. Thanks to its design with small edges, the LG G6 remains a handy smartphone that can be operated with virtually no-one-handed operation. the only mako for VR is the use of an IPS display instead of an AMOLED display. It brings vivid colors to everyday tasks, photos and videos. But as is known for VR, AMOLED displays perform better, especially because of the afterglow effect (hier nachlesen).

The resolution of 1440 x 2880 px with a screen size of 5.7 inches provides a pixel density of 565 ppi, which you have to look very closely with the naked eye to find blur.

Fluent with the LG G6

The LG G6 is equipped with an Andreno 530 and achieved a remarkable result of 136205 points in the Antutu benchmark. On the LG-adapted Android interface with the simple name “LG UX 6.0 UI” everything is running liquid and stuttering in vain. Even with more complex VR applications, you will not be able to detect any problems to date. The experience on this smartphone is thus very fluid.

How good is the LG G6 for VR?

As mentioned earlier, the smartphone is suitable for VR. Pixel density, display size and performance are all you need for previous VR applications like ‘Google Cardboard’. The only weak point is in the display technology, because it is an IPS LCD display, which, in contrast to AMOLED in VR for a “blurred” experience. Anyway, anyway, you can easily watch VR videos and play VR games anyway, with the only downside that everything will look a bit blurred.

LG G6 and Daydream

Unfortunately, the G6 is not a Daydream-ready smartphone. The reason is mainly due to the missing AMOLED display. If you want to enjoy VR with a similar smartphone, you can just grab the LG V30, which is equipped with an OLED display: Watch LG V30 on Amazon

Thanks to the dual camera, the ‘Google Cardboard Camera App’ makes it possible to take very good VR pictures. Thanks to the dual camera, a larger viewing angle is also created. The hitherto rather unusual display format of 18: 9 could still provide for habituation difficulties, but the display is still great. On top of it, the LG G6 still has a strong battery.
