DESTEK V5 VR Headset – The successor to the popular Destek V4 brings a few small changes. Most importantly, the VR headset comes in different colors. Is it worth switching to the new version?
It was no wonder that there will be another version of the successful Destek V4. But what has changed? There are small adjustments in the design that we find very useful. You can find out more about this below.
Here you can see the highlights of the Destek V5 VR headset at a glance:
- A very comfortable design
- Stable and easily adjustable head strap
- The distance between the two lenses can be adjusted
- Anti-blue light “HD” lenses – protect against harmful blue light
- 110 ° angle of view
- For smartphones with a display size of up to 6.8 inches or a housing size of 163 mm x 83 mm x 10 mm
- Suitable for almost all smartphones ( You can find the best smartphones for VR here )

Destek V4 – Small flaws fixed
What bothered us a bit about the Destek V4 was that the distance between the lenses and the smartphone was sometimes not very tight. If you took off the VR headset and put it back on, it could happen that this exact distance changes and you have to readjust it. The Destek V5 VR headset makes a solid impression here, as if nothing would slip. In our test, the distance always remained as it was set.
The entire design was slightly adapted. You shouldn’t have any problems with larger smartphones. Smartphones with up to 6.8 inches or a housing size of 163 mm x 83 mm x 10 mm fit into the VR headset.
Glasses wearers were also very happy in our test, because the glasses fit very well under the Destek V5 VR headset. However, it cannot be said in general that it works equally well with all glasses, larger glasses could possibly lead to problems.
Lenses with blue light filters
The Destek V5 has so-called “anti-blue light HD lenses”. Basically, these are lenses that filter the blue light, which is generally not very healthy for the eyes. The whole thing can be solved even better by activating the blue light filter or night mode directly on the smartphone.
However, the addition “HD” is not very meaningful. Whether something is HD or not depends on the smartphone display (more information here: VR headset resolution ). Maybe it has something to do with the 94% permeability. As a result, the image should as good as not be clouded by the lenses.
110 ° viewing angle
Like its predecessor, the Destek V5 also has a viewing angle of 110 °, which is currently one of the best options available for VR headsets.
With this perspective, the immersion is already very high and after a short time you feel as if you are actually part of the VR scene.
Different color variants of the Destek V5 VR headset
The Destek V5 is available in different colors this time, so there should be something for everyone.
- black
- White
- Army blue
- Army green
- BGreen
- Desert white
- Sea blue
Destek V5 with included remote control
It is very pleasing that a remote control is included with the Destek V5. The Destek V5 VR headset has a magnetic switch directly on the top, which is completely sufficient if you only watch movies. The remote control is almost indispensable for games.
The supplied remote control is a very common Bluetooth remote control, as it has been available for years. However, you can’t go wrong with this remote control. It can also be used for other applications on the smartphone.
Destek V5 VR headset apps
With the Destek V5 VR headset you can play all common VR apps that you can find on Google Cardboard.
