Sony Xperia XZ2 – Fresh design and powerful performance
With the Sony Xperia XZ2 Sony brings this time a smartphone on the market, which shows more curves since the Z3 again. While the upper and lower edges of the previous models were still straight, the edges of the Xperia XZ2 became round again. Sony is back on strong performance, a colorful display and a good camera.
In terms of performance, the Xperia XZ2 can even defy Samsung’s current flagship, the Galaxy S9.
A big “novelty” is the rounded design, which strongly reminds of the Xz3. In contrast to the smaller model XZ2 Compact here is the back of glass instead of plastic.

No 3.5mm headphone jack
As with some other current smartphones, the 3.5 mm headphone jack is omitted to allegedly save space. The Xperia XZ2 with its 11.1 mm thickness is by no means a sleek smartphone. With an adapter, the headphones can easily be connected via the USB-C socket.

Is the Sony Xperia XZ2 suitable for VR?
The display offers on the 5.7 inches a screen density of 424 ppi, which unfortunately looks too blurred by a VR glasses. The display size of 5.7 inches is suitable for a pleasant VR experience. The IPS LCD display also provides the “after-glow effect”, where the picture blurs during fast movements. This does not happen with an AMOLED display.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 is a very powerful, high-end smartphone with an elegant design that can only be used to a limited extent for VR. All the more it is suitable with its great support and fast long-lasting updates for those who would like to have their smartphone up to date. For those who also have no problems with a missing headphone jack, this smartphone is definitely worth considering.
