Samsung Galaxy S10e – with a surprising “budget edition” of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Samsung would like to appeal to people who do not want to spend 800 € for a new smartphone. Is it a good smartphone for VR? Of course it is!
Design-Technically, the Galaxy S10e is again designed as well as its larger siblings (S10 and S10 +), but a few small drawbacks are added. For the smartphone is a bit cheaper and suitable for all who do not want to spend too much on a new smartphone, but still want to do without top equipment and top performance.

What does the Samsung Galaxy S10e have in common with the S10?
- Dynamic AMOLED Display
- Hole in the display (Statt Notch)
- Same performance (Snapdragon 855, 8 GB RAM)
- Waterproof
- Aluminum frame
- Stereo speakers
- Headphone jack
- Wireless charging
- It can be used as charging station for other phones
What are the differences to the Galaxy S10?
- Small Display (5,8 inches instead of 6,1)
- Lower resolution (1080p, instead of 1440p)
- No fingerprint scanner in the display (but on the power button though)
- Gorilla Glass 5 instead of Gorilla Glass 6
- Display is not rounded at the edge
- 2 instead of 3 cameras on the back (No telephono lens)
- In comes in less colors
- A little bit smaller than the the S10 (142.2 x 69.9 x 7.9 mm instead of 149.9 x 70.4 x 7.8 mm )
The Samsung Galaxy S10e is available with 8 GB of RAM in the variants with 128 GB and 512 GB of memory, like the Samsung Galaxy S10. In addition, this memory can be extended with an SD card.
Nevertheless, a good camera equipment in the Samsung Galaxy S10e
The Galaxy S10e makes the camera only a small smear – and although the telephoto lens is missing. Otherwise, it is the same excellent camera equipment as the Samsung Galaxy S10, which can shoot impressive pictures and videos.
Good display in the Samsung Galaxy S10e
In contrast to the S10, the S10e uses a smaller display, which in turn has a small resolution. Nevertheless, it is also equipped with a Dynamic AMOLED display, which makes colors appear vivid and sharp. At the edges, the display is not rounded and is a matter of taste. For virtual reality, the Samsung Galaxy S10e is limited in terms of the display with its pixel density of 438 ppi.
The display is like the flagship almost borderless and by inserting the camera directly into the display, no “notch” has arisen. Thus, the screen-to-display ratio, in contrast to its predecessor, has been improved considerably.
Is the Samsung Galaxy S10e suitable for VR?
The S10e can be used for VR (Virtual Reality), but the picture is not so sharp because it only has a screen density of 438 ppi. The display size of 5.8 inches is very well suited.
The powerful Exynos 9820 Octa with a Mali-G76 MP12 GPU also brings it to about 340,345 points at Antutu and is therefore well prepared for all current applications.
